Avaya Stadium is finally ready to rock.
The San Jose Earthquakes' new home stadium is set for a ribbon-cutting on Friday and its soft open on Saturday afternoon (5 pm ET, get tickets), when the LA Galaxy pay a visit for one final preseason friendly. And just days before it is expected to fill up with eager fans, it looks nothing short of spectacular.
MLSsoccer.com was lucky enough to get a tour of the newly completed facility, and we snapped a few shots to give you an idea of what to expect from MLS' newest soccer-specific stadium. Photos courtesy of myself and intrepid MLS Club Services man Ian Rolfe:
Right on top of the field!
The big board.
A great view behind the goal.
On the other end, a view from the supporters' terrace
The suite life.
View from the top.
From the locker room to the pitch.
And here we are (opposition bench).
If you like what you see and are in the Bay Area this weekend, you might want to check out the new digs now – the Quakes open the season with two road games, and the March 22 home opener against the Chicago Fire is already sold out.
