Now separated into different conferences but once a vibrant postseason rivalry, D.C. United and the Houston Dynamo meet for the only time this season when the clubs clash Saturday evening at RFK Stadium. United saw their winning streak end but still were able to extend their undefeated run last weekend, hauled back into a late 2-2 draw with the New York Red Bulls in the nation’s capital. The Dynamo exploded for their biggest attacking output of the year last weekend, rolling to a 3-0 win against the Montréal Impact at BBVA Compass Stadium.

  • Perry Kitchen scored the first two-goal game of his career, but D.C. United were still hauled back into a 2-2 draw with the New York Red Bulls on Saturday evening at RFK Stadium. United have two wins and a draw since their only defeat of the season, at the Red Bulls on March 22.
  • The Dynamo exceeded their goal output for the entire season in one night, rolling to a 3-0 home win against the Montréal Impact on Saturday evening. The Dynamo had scored two goals total in their first five games; Giles Barnes’ opener in the Impact win was their first since March 21, and ended a 271-minute scoreless streak.
  • When United won 3-1 last Oct. 12 at BBVA Compass Stadium, it was their first victory in Houston in 12 meetings all time in league and cup play. The Dynamo had won 10 of the first 11 matchups there, with one draw.
  • United’s win last May 21 at RFK Stadium was their first against the Dynamo since the 2012 season. The Dynamo had won six of seven meetings in between, with one draw, including a victory and a tie in the 2012 Eastern Conference Championship.
