Bermuda lost their first CNL qualifier, falling to Aruba 3-1, but rallied for a lopsided win over St. Maarten, a 1-0 win over El Salvador in Hamilton and then rallied from an early deficit to win 3-1 at the Dominican Republic on the fourth and final matchday to finish fifth and clinch their first-ever Gold Cup berth.
The Gombey Warriors followed that impressive performance up with a 1-0 victory over fellow Gold Cup participants Guyana in an international friendly at Bermuda National Stadium. Donte Brangman scored the 37th-minute winner.
