Sean St. Ledger appears ready to jumpstart his career with D.C. United.


The Irish international defender, fresh off a short stint with Championship side Ipswich Town – not to mention hanging out with pop star Taylor Swift – is on trial with DCU, the club confirmed to MLSsoccer.com on Tuesday.


St. Ledger has 37 caps with the Republic of Ireland, although his club career has been rather nomadic. The 30-year-old has spent time with Peterborough United, Preston North End, Leicester City, and has also been on loan at Stevenage Borough, Middlesbrough and Millwall.


He was previously linked to an MLS move in September, telling The Herald that he'd gotten "a few sniffs from the USA."
