The MLS Disciplinary Committee has fined San Jose Earthquakes midfielder Matias Perez Garcia an undisclosed amount for failure to leave the field in a timely/orderly manner after he received a red card in the 66th minute of San Jose’s regular-season finale loss at Dallas on Sunday.
Perez Garcia was shown a straight red with the game tied 1-1 after he made contact with an open hand with FC Dallas midfielder Mauro Diaz (video above).
San Jose, who were fighting for their playoff lives, couldn’t hang on while down a man, giving up a 79th-minute goal to Victor Ulloa to fall 2-1 at Toyota Stadium.
