UPDATE (July 6):FC Dallas were withdrawn from the tournament given the impact on the club's ability to train and play competitive matches after 10 players and one technical staff member tested positive for COVID-19.
In what will likely be an interesting coaching chess match, FC Dallas and the San Jose Earthquakes meet in a critical Group B showdown on July 20.
Luchi Gonzalez's squad was scheduled to open the tournament against the Vancouver Whitecaps July 9, while Matias Almeyda's guys were set to meet the Seattle Sounders 24 hours later.
Co-Group B favorites, along with the Sounders, FC Dallas secured four points from their first two regular season games, defeating the Philadelphia Union before drawing the Montreal Impact.
The Quakes couldn't gain momentum from a season-opening draw against Toronto FC, suffering a lopsided defeat to Minnesota United in Week 2. However, Almeyda has always had success with his man-marking style in tournament play, which could prove huge in Orlando.
