Matches at the San Jose Earthquakes' new Avaya Stadium are going to be a hot ticket in 2015 if the inaugural game is any indication.
The Quakes on Monday announced that the opening match against the Chicago Fire on March 22 is "sold out to the general public" with "under 1,000 tickets still available as part of season ticket packages."
The 18,000-capacity Avaya Stadium, located near San Jose International Airport, will be the newest soccer stadium in MLS and is expected to be among the most technologically advanced in the world.
The Earthquakes, led by new head coach Dominic Kinnear, open their 2015 season with two matches on the road (in Dallas on March 7 and in Seattle on March 14) before the grand opening of their new home on Sunday, March 22 (7 pm ET on Fox Sports 1 and Fox Deportes).
