The San Jose Earthquakes have signed rookie goalkeeper Tomas Gomez, the club announced Thursday.
Per league and team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Gomez, who came into MLS as a third-round selection (60th overall) of Columbus Crew SC in the 2015 SuperDraft, was a four-year starter at Georgetown University, where he led the Hoyas to a 50-16-13 record from 2011-14. In 81 starts at Georgetown, the 22-year-old made 251 saves, set a school record with 36 shutouts and recorded a 0.70 goals against average.

He was named to the All-Big East Conference team three times (2012-14), the All-Region team three times (2012-14) and was selected as the Big East Co-Goalkeeper of the Year in 2013.
He has also spent time with the US U-20 national team.
